Sheltered beneath the towering Langdale Pikes, the National Trust Great Langdale Campsite is situated in one of the best walking and climbing areas in the Lake District.
Our well equipped site offers a range of camping options including grass pitches by the beck, tent camping in the group fields or luxury glamping pods with heating and lighting. All guests have access to high quality facilities including hot showers (also with disabled access), washing up and laundry areas.
We welcome families on our site and along with our pitches we also offer wooden glamping pods which are ideal for luxury camping stays.
We have a total of 140 bookable grass pitches onsite and 35 pitches available on a first come first served basis throughout the year. There are two campervan pitches with electric hook ups and six pitches without.
In addition, we have nine luxury wooden glamping pods suitable for couples and families. Our seven standard pods sleep two adults and one child and two family pods sleep two adults and up to three children. All pods have heating and lighting.
The campsite has two separate toilet and shower blocks with disabled facilities. Use of the showers is completely free to guests. At each toilet block you’ll find pot washing facilities and we also have a laundry and drying room onsite. There is a shop onsite with limited local produce.
In addition to the camping essentials we also have an outdoor children’s play area and a fixed orienteering course with maps available from the main reception for £1.50.
Our bouldering wall is the perfect place to try your hand or warm up for climbing in the lakes. We also have a number of mountain bikes for hire – available over half days, full days or multiple days.
Camping party sizes are restricted to a maximum of four adults and four children. Dogs are welcome onsite (a maximum of two per camping party) and a charge is incurred for each pet.
Dogs are not allowed in the pods but we now have wooden pod kennels so your dog can have their own place next to you – please contact us for further information. Guests must not light campfires or BBQs onsite.
All profit from National Trust accommodation supports conservation projects in the local area.
