About this Camp Site

Situated in a scenic location under the Scafell Mountain range, Wasdale Campsite is ideal for visiting the deepest lake in England, Wastwater or the West Cumbria Coast. There are plenty of opportunities for fell walking and climbing nearby or try more adventurous activities including Ghyll scrambling, open boat canoeing, archery, abseiling and paddle boarding. Families are welcome and along with our pitches we also offer glamping accommodation which is ideal for more luxurious stays.

Pitches/ Accommodation

We have 120 bookable tent pitches including four with electric hook ups and eight camper van pitches. Three of these have electric hook ups and five do not. In addition, we have three standard camping pods, four family camping pods and two Nordic tipis. Our standard pods sleep two adults and one child and our family pods can sleep two adults and three children. Our Tipis can sleep up to three adults or two adults and two children. Organised groups such as The Scouts or The Duke of Edinburgh Award are welcome during the low season. Our pitches are dog friendly but please note we do not accept dogs in our pods or tipis.
