About this Holiday Cottage

Set in a small Lakeland hamlet near the thriving market town of Keswick, Millbeck Towers is a beautifully appointed ‘fairytale’ style cottage nestled in the hills with views across the valley and Derwentwater.

Millbeck Towers is a truly unique 18th Century Lake District retreat with rambling gardens, turrets and stained glass windows. The cottage boasts ample parking space for up to four cars and welcomes up to two well behaved dogs.

Luxury interior design can be found throughout the cottage, complete with bespoke furnishings and high quality self catering facilities.

The ground floor houses a large breakfast room complete with a cosy woodburning stove and turret windows looking out across the valley. A separate elegant dining room boasts a traditional open fire and large table for a great group dining experience.

Stunning features continue into the newly refurbished kitchen, fully fitted with plenty of worktop and cupboard space and great additional features including a wine cooler, dishwasher and AGA style cooker.  A utility room on this floor houses laundry machines including a washer and tumble dryer and is ideal for drying muddy boots and wet clothes.

A large sitting room on the first floor enjoys extended views across the countryside. This room features a large open fire and elegant hand crafted furnishings – an ideal space to relax.

Bedrooms / Bathrooms

Millbeck Towers has six generously sized bedrooms based on the first and second floors, each room has antique style furnishings and comfortable beds with either wooden crafted or iron framed beds. Many rooms have feature fireplaces and some enjoy the additional natural light from the rounded turret windows.

The first floor comprises two bedrooms; one twin and a connected double with en-suite shower room and a separate toilet. On the second floor there are a further four bedrooms including an en-suite double, a second double and two twin rooms.

There is a family bathroom with large shower unit and bath tub on the second floor.

Boasting masses of outdoor space, the cottages gardens are a great space for enjoying the Lake District summertime and have a fenced pond and numerous becks and steams running through. There is a large flat lawn for family games and plenty of outdoor seating.

Other Things to Note

Bed linen, oil heating and electricity are included in the rental price of the property. There is parking space for up to four cars outside the cottage.

Well behaved dogs are very welcome in at Millbeck Towers, we allow a total of two per booking. Cots can be provided for younger guests with prior arrangements.

Please note that children should be supervised at all times in the gardens due to the depth of the becks and ponds.

All profit from National Trust accommodation supports conservation projects in the local area.

Around and About

Offering the country’s highest mountain ranges and striking all natural backdrops, the Lake District is a hub for keen walkers, cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts, who can climb, sail and hike their way around this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The National Trust protects a quarter of the Lake District including some of its most famed lakes, mountain ranges and historic sites including the Georgian Wordsworth House in Cockermouth and the 17th Century cottage in Near Sawrey, where Beatrix Potter wrote many of her charming stories.

Changeover days for week stays in the property are Saturdays. Short breaks are available throughout the year with a minimum stay of 2 nights.
