The five star Shippon Roost is a detached Snowdonian longhouse made from exquisite stone and slate. With room for six it's ideal for a large family while groups are also welcome. Guests with limited mobility will find the cottage easy to access and cars can be parked right outside both front doors. Secure cycle storage is provided and there's cycle hire in Bala if you haven't brought your own bike.
Converted from a former hatchery, the living room has a high vaulted ceiling, sofa, Freeview TV with DVD and CD player and stunning decoration. In the corner is a Villager stove on a stone and slate hearth that really ties the room together. Down from the main hall is a newly refurbished country kitchen and dining area with microwave, fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and a dining table with chairs.
Shippon Roost has three bedrooms; a double with a half-tester canopy bed, a twin and a full sized bunk bedded room. Towels and bed linen are provided as are a travel cot, highchair, safety gate, socket covers and fireguard for a little one. The bathroom, just off the hallway, features a bath, shower, hand basin, WC and shaver point.
Step through the rear stable door of the property and you'll find a private, enclosed patio with floodlighting, barbeque and garden furniture. If the weather's not cooperating then you can barbeque in the barn or hire out The Retreat, an elegant function room. In the Cyffdy grounds is a large paddock with sheep and the resident goat, perfect for younger guests.
Why not treat yourself a bit of lovely pampering during your stay at the cottage. A babysitting service, beauty therapy treatments, breakfast and barbeque hampers, helicopter pleasure flights and guided local walks are just a few of the things you can choose from.
One small dog is welcome in the cottage but special rules do apply.
The cottage is ideally placed for exploring the wider area and within an hour you can drive to Chester, Betws y Coed, Llangollen, Portmeirion, Snowdon and many Blue Flag beaches.
