About this Holiday Cottage

Situated in the heart of Snowdonia National Park, Stable Nook is a charming 400 year old stable conversion affording panoramic views across the Llafar Valley to the Aran mountain. Peacefully set in six acres of land, this beautiful period cottage retains exposed beams, sloping ceilings and has a feature inglenook fireplace housing a Villager stove to the sitting room. Couples, families and small groups are all welcome and we also accept one small behaved dog by prior arrangement.


The large sitting room is furnished in contemporary style and has a large flat screen TV, DVD player, coffee table, sofa and armchairs. The kitchen is well equipped for a self catering break with a fridge/ freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave all provided. Other amenities at the cottage include a second TV, steam iron with board, a video player and a radio/ cassette/ CD player.

Bedrooms / Bathrooms

The master bedroom has a king size metal canopied bed and there is a further twin bedroom. The bathroom has a hand held shower attachment and a shaver point.


There are large lawn gardens to the front, side plus a private flood lit patio which boasts panoramic south-facing views. There is also plenty of space for cars and boats at the cottage. A barbecue and garden furniture are provided.

Special to Stable Nook Cottage

This cottage is one of six we offer a Cyffdy Farm Cottages and they can be booked together to accommodate groups of up to twenty people. Our listed historical farmstead is set in six acres and has a Timber Trail Children's Play area. A function room - 'The Retreat' - can be hired by groups by prior arrangement and there is also a barn where barbecues can be held during unsuitable weather. In the grounds, there is a large paddock with resident goat, sheep plus sledges which can be used in winter. Bike storage facilities and a power washer are available for cyclists use. A welcome tray is provided for your arrival and the cottage will be pre-heated during the cooler months. 

Other Things to Note

Small groups are welcome but please note we do not accept stag or hen parties. Fuel, bed linen, towels, tea towels and bath mats are included in the rental price. A travel cot, safety gate, high chair, fire guard and socket covers are also supplied.

Around and About

The cottage is accessed via a quiet lane and situated just two miles from Bala Lake. Surrounded by rolling hills, this beautiful cottage is the ideal base for exploring Snowdonia National Park and ideal for outdoor activities including walking, white water rafting and mountain biking.


Short breaks of two nights or more are welcome.
