Elegant and contemporary throughout with a high quality interior and bespoke antique furnishings, our five en-suite rooms offer a perfect base to relax during your Lake District holiday. Room choice includes four doubles and one spacious family room.
Room 1 - a stylish double room with an en-suite shower and views across to Windermere village and Orrest Head. This room is slightly larger than our standard double rooms.
Room 2 - our largest double room with an en-suite containing a bath and shower. This warm and very comfortable south west facing room has views across to gardens and trees, and features stunning antique walnut furniture and a leather sofa.
Room 3 - a first floor double room with an en-suite shower situated to the rear of the guest house. Peaceful and cosy, this room is a lovely sunny room.
Room 4 - a second floor double room with an en-suite shower. This character attic room with feature exposed beams is located at the front of the guest house with views across to Windermere village and Orrest Head.
Room 5 - a spacious family room with an en-suite shower, sleeping up to 3 with a double and single bed. Arched windows look across roof tops towards the village and Orrest Head. This room is in soft grey tones and can serve as either a family room for 3 or a twin room.

Enjoy a delightful Full English Lakeland breakfast, made fresh each morning with local free range eggs, Cumberland sausage, bacon, mushroom, tomato and beans. A buffet of cereals, toasts, fruits, yoghurts and juices are available.
We also offer lighter cooked breakfast options and a superb vegetarian breakfast with alternates to bacon and sausage always available. We can cater for special dietary requirements with prior arrangements.

There are a wide range of picturesque walks less than half an hour from our front door. One of the most popular and well known is Orrest Head which boasts some of the most stunning views over Windermere and the lake. Other walks include School Knott, Brant Fell and Biskey Howe or you can enjoy lakeside and woodland walks at Millerground or Sheriffs Walk.
The Lake District is a hub for activity where you can take boat trips from Bowness pier, try your hand at water sports on the lake at the Low Wood Watersports centre or visit the famed World of Beatrix Potter Attraction in the heart of Bowness-on-Windermere.
Short breaks are available throughout the year but please note that we have a minimum stay of two nights. This may be increased to 3 nights during peak times. Check in times should be arranged in advance at any reasonable time. Rooms must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure.
Directions from the north: Take the scenic route. Leave the M6 Junc 40 near Penrith. Take the A66 towards Keswick. Follow signs for the A592. Stay on the A592 for 40 minutes. After coming down the Troutbeck Valley you reach the A591 at a small roundabout. Turn left here. After about half a mile, turn right at ‘Rockside’ guest house to Windermere village centre. Join the one way system past the Co-op, take the first turning on the left onto Broad Street. Go to the end of the street and turn right at Woodland Road. Take the first right into Holly Road. Ivy Bank is the fourth house on the left.
Directions from the south: Leave the M6 at Junc 36, turn left and follow the A591 to Windermere – this takes about 25 minutes. Take a left in front of National Westminster Bank. Join the one way system past the Co-op, take the first turning on the left onto Broad Street. Go to the end of the street and turn right at Woodland Road. Take the first right into Holly Road. Ivy Bank is the fourth house on the left.
Directions from the station: When you get off the train at Windermere you can take a taxi (it costs about £3) or if you prefer to walk (10 minutes), come out from the station and go left past Booths supermarket. You then go on past the Tourist Information Centre (you may wish to look in here). Continue downhill from the TIC following the one-way traffic. Turn left at the ‘Queens’ pub and follow the one-way traffic system along Crescent Road passing the Co-op supermarket on your left. Take the first left turn after the Co-op into Broad Street. When you have gone half way along Broad Street there is an entrance to a car park on the right. Walk into the car park and go left, walk out of the other side of the car park into Holly Road and Ivy Bank is the first house to the left of the Beaumont Hotel.
