About this Property

Stumbledown is a studio located down a short alley off a quiet lane in the heart of Salcombe, yet only a minutes walk from bustling Fore Street which provides an array of quality delicatessens, pubs, restaurants and shops. It is moments away from the bakery and the very popular Captain Flint's restaurant.

Famous for its vibrant atmosphere, numerous water activities and outstanding coastal walks Salcombe has built a reputation as a must visit location in any season of the year. With a number of stunning beaches within walking distance (and via the passenger ferry) you could easily spend your entire holiday at Stumbledown without needing to use the car. This really is the perfect getaway spot.

Stumbledown is located on the ground floor of a four storey 18th century cottage and is accessed through its own entrance.The rest of the property provides holiday accommodation for a further 8 people. During the high season Stumbledown and the main house (The Stumbles) is only let as one and during that time Stumbledown is accessed from The Stumbles by an internal door. In the low and mid-season Stumbledown and main house can be let separately. When rented separately access to Stumbledown is through its own private entrance. Accommodation:

From small lane entrance to a beautifully tiled hall (with under floor heating) which leads to living area with wood floor, sofa, TV/DVD; kitchen area with electric oven, gas hobs, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer; dining area with table to seat 4, cupboard with hanging space; and bedroom area with pull down 5ft double bed. The bathroom is off the hall and is newly refurbished with a large shower, wash basin, WC and under floor heating.

Parking:

At the property (if 'The Stumbles House' is not booked) or if 'The Stumbles House' is booked then in Shadycombe car park (300 yards from property) or Creek car park (450 yards) depending on the time of year. If car park parking is needed a weekly permit can be purchased from South Hams District Council prior to your stay, or from Salcombe Tourist Information Centre upon arrival. If a permit is needed (because there is no parking at the house) this will be refunded to the guests after their stay (upon proof of receipt).
