Located at the end of a quiet country lane in the picturesque and unspoilt South Devon village of Bantham, Sloopside is a contemporary seaside villa with exceptional coastal views and an enviable location.  Within easy walking distance is Bantham beach, widely considered one of the most beautiful in the West Country, and a favourite with surfers and other water sports' enthusiasts.  The popular and historic Sloop Inn which serves excellent food is just a stone's throw away.

Over the last year, Sloopside has been completely remodelled and extended to offer comfortable accommodation for up to 14 guests. With great amenities that make the most of its unique location, the house offers uninterrupted views over Bigbury Bay to Burgh Island's famous Art Deco hotel from all of its ground floor bedrooms, as well as from the spacious living areas on its first floor.

Guests can take in the fresh air on Sloopside's sunny, sea-facing balconies or enjoy relaxing in the newly landscaped gardens.  In the covered dining area, al fresco feasts with stunning sea views can be enjoyed whenever the weather is warm enough.

Sloopside offers flexible accommodation, with a self-contained two bedroom annexe ideal for relatives who want a quiet refuge or older teenagers keen on their own space.  It is the perfect holiday home for all.

As well as the nearby open spaces of the beach, Sloopside is conveniently located for the golf courses at Thurlestone and Bigbury, and for miles of wonderful walking along the South West Coast Path.  The beautiful scenery around the beach and river estuary provides good fishing and wonderful inspiration for keen artists.

Main house:  entrance to ground floor lobby area with washing machine and tumble dryer and cloakroom.  Hallway on right leads to wet room and bedroom 1 with two sets of full size bunk beds, (please note that this room is only suitable for children), hallway on left leads to bedroom 2 with king size bed and has a patio door to main garden.  Opposite bedroom 2 is a family bathroom with power shower over the bath. At the end of the hallway is Bedroom 3, which has zip and link beds and can be arranged as a twin or double room, en suite shower room and patio door to main garden.  From the ground floor lobby, stairs straight ahead lead to the first floor and master bedroom 4 with king size bed, patio door opening onto balcony and en suite bathroom with power shower over bath.  The spacious main, open plan living area offers panoramic views out to sea, and sliding patio doors onto a wide balcony running the width of the main house.  Seating area with leather sofas arranged around a woodburning stove and wall-mounted TV with DVD player.  Well-equipped kitchen with induction hob, single oven, combination microwave oven,dishwasher and large capacity fridge with ice box.  Dining area with table and chairs to seat 10.  Adjacent patio doors leading to outdoor dining area with table and chairs to seat 14 and external stairs down to garden.  Door from kitchen area leads to hallway with cloakroom that connects the main house to the annexe.  Annexe: Open plan living area with dual aspect and lovely views of Burgh Island and surrounding countryside.  Well-equipped kitchen with induction hob, single oven, combination microwave oven, dishwasher and large capacity fridge with ice box.  Dining area with table and chairs to seat 4, and adjacent patio doors giving access to separate balcony. Seating area arranged around a woodburning stove and wall-mounted TV with DVD player.   Stairs down to ground floor and bedroom 5 which has zip and link beds and can be arranged as a twin or double room, plus patio door to annexe garden.  Opposite bedroom 5 is a family bathroom with power shower over bath.  Master bedroom 6 has a king size bed, en suite bathroom with separate shower and patio door leading to annexe garden.
Please note: When the property is full to capacity of 14 guests the number of additional infants under 2yrs is restricted to a maximum of three.


Upper garden behind main house mainly laid to lawn with gate and steps down to lower garden behind annexe, also mainly laid to lawn.


  • Included: bed linen, bath towels, heating and electricity.  One travel cot (guests provide own cot bedding) and high chair available (additional can be requested).
