A pleasant stroll along the traffic free Warren soon brings you to Nepenthe where, from its elevated position, the visitor can enjoy magnificent Channel and harbour views, some of the best in Polperro. This Grade II listed cottage has the charm of a bygone age. The large kitchen diner and the sunny sitting room both have mutli-fuel burners to keep you warm on those cold winter nights! The comfortable rooms are functionally furnished and the cottage is ideal if you are seeking to experience the simple and quieter side of life. The icing on the cake is to peep out of any window, which never fails to reward and soothe the visitor with water and harbour views. You will even be greeted by a lovely welcome pack on arrival.


Well-equipped kitchen/diner with slate floor, ceramic hob, built-under electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave/grill/convection combi-oven, washer/dryer, dishwasher, slow-cooker, Bosch-Tassimo coffee dispenser, dining table to seat six, two painted wicker sofas, multi-fuel burner and flat screen TV. You even have the benefit of two bags filled with picnic accessories as well as a selection of games for your enjoyment. Wooden staircase (with grips) up to first floor sitting room with two sofas (one extends to a double sofa bed), armchair, rocking chair, multi-fuel burner, flatscreen TV, DVD player, stripped timber flooring and fabulous views. Staircase up to second floor, where both bedrooms enjoy lovely harbour views. Double bedroom with 4ft 6in double bed. Bunk bedroom with 3ft single bunks. Bathroom with bath, shower over, oval countertop basin and WC.


“Natural” gardens and front paved patio with harbour views and garden furniture to seat four. Stable-style door leads to the rear garden,  unfenced, moderately steeply terraced, accessed via stone walkways without handrails (please exercise caution), leading up to the top terrace with a bench and bistro table and chairs from which you can enjoy spectacular views of the harbour and sea. Not suitable for small children.

Parking: In main car park (charges apply). Please note: There is no car access to the property.

Please note: Approximately 10 steps lead up from the path to the garden gate, so it may be unsuitable for the elderly or infirm.


  • Included: Bed linen, towels, WiFi, electricity and heating (night storage and convector heaters). "Instant-burn log" for multi-fuel burner for the first evening.
  • Security Deposit: £75.
  • Pets: Up to 3 dogs welcome. (Please note: the owner's cat occasionally visits the property).
  • Telephone: For incoming and emergency calls only. Mobile reception poor (Orange and T-Mobile/EE good), Skype calls can be made via the internet access provided.
  • Local Facilities: Polperro beach 10 minutes walk. Talland beach 1 mile. Other south coast beaches are easily accessible by car. Shops, pubs and restaurants all in Polperro. Looe with more facilities, 4 miles. Plymouth 25 miles. Truro 29 miles.
