Situated on the edge of picturesque Grasmere village, and nestling in two acres of riverside gardens surrounded by majestic fells, Rothay Garden is a perfect choice for a relaxing break in the Lake District. Our staff are dedicated to one aim - to turn your break away from home into a memorable holiday to treasure
All the 30 bedrooms and 12 gorgeous suites at Rothay Garden offer great en-suite facilities, satellite TV, generous hospitality tray, hairdryer and complementary toiletries and fluffy bathrobes.
Many of the bedrooms are on the ground floor, and half of the rooms have superb six-foot wide King Size beds (with the remainder having luxurious five-foot Queen Size beds).
All the rooms have excellent views over the nearby fells, and many have their own patios or balconies overlooking the gardens or the babbling river Rothay.
Days in the Lake District begin at The Rothay with a hearty Lakeland breakfast and whether a full English is your preference or a lighter option, we will cater for your needs or dietary requests.
The stylish AA two rosette Garden Restaurant overlooks the hotel's two acres of gardens. The hotel's kitchens are managed by Masterchef Andrew Burton who, with his talented team, prepare mouthwatering gourmet dishes using the freshest of locally sourced produce. This excellent cuisine is perfectly complemented with a collection of fine wines.
With our new Riverside Spa, we’ve brought the outside in, with amazing floor-to-ceiling windows that allow you to enjoy superb views of the surrounding fells whilst soaking away the strains of aching muscles or stressed minds. In the summer months, the glass-fronted doors open to provide a true feeling of being in the garden with the breeze on your face, at one with nature.
Guests can enjoy the Hydrospa, Herbal Pine Sauna, Aromatherapy Room, Monsoon Feature Showers, Infrared Loungers and an amazing Reflexology Walk. It's the ideal place to chill out and relax - or enjoy a chilled glass of wine or a cold beer before dinner.
Chic lounge bars, two AA-rosette awarded food and a delightful new Riverside Spa all combine to ensure that guests can have the short break or holiday that they deserve. You can get a gift voucher for stay or purchase from a superb range of Rothay Garden merchandise including cases of wine, chocolates or champagne.

Just outside the hotel, the renowned Lake District awaits - Grasmere really is the jewel of the Lakes and is, of course, centrally situated for Ambleside, Windermere, Keswick and Kendal.
Poet William Wordsworth described Grasmere at the loveliest spot that man hath ever known , and there s no doubt that the village is both the geographical and cultural centre of the Lake District, still personifying charm and olde worlde English heritage.
