Ideally situated just a short distance from Lancaster and two miles from the M6 motorway, The Quarters is a delightful two bedroom apartment set on the edge of the beautiful Forest of Bowland. We offer superb facilities for disabled guests and are also perfect for families or small groups of walkers/ cyclists wishing to explore the picturesque Lune Valley. Pets are very welcome too!
In addition, we also provide a 'home from home' retreat for visitors to the Lancaster Campus of the University of Cumbria and the University of Lancaster, both of which can be found less than six miles away. Guests will also find the long beaches and attractions of Morecambe Bay just a short drive to the west and a journey of around forty minutes can take you to the stunning scenery of both The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks.
The spacious living area includes a comfortable sofa which converts into an extra double bed, a reclining chair, two further armchairs and a country-style dining suite. Adjacent, guests will find the well equipped kitchen which is appointed with a dishwasher, washing machine, electric oven, gas hob and fridge/ freezer. We have also installed low work surfaces for wheel chair users and there is plenty of space in the lounge for manouvering.
The two bedrooms both have hard wood floors; one is a contemporary double with plenty of storage provided and the second is a flexible room which can be presented as a twin or large double as requested. This room also offers generous clothes storage and both have dimmer switches, radiators with individual thermostats and space for a hoist if guests wish to bring one.
The bathroom also offers plenty of space for manouvering, grab rails, wet room style shower with wall mounted, but not fixed, hose plus a large corner bath.
Our garden has a stream running alongside it, ideal for children to play in or to just relax beside with a drink. There's a variety of seating including benches, chairs and two tables.
Dogs are welcome and we make no extra charge for pets.
Guests staying at The Quarters are treated to a very warm welcome which includes a bottle of wine and milk on arrival.

The Quarters is proud to sponsor Jordan Catchpole, a young Para-swimmer who competes in the S14 classification of Para-swimming and has just been awarded a place on the Para-Academy Squad. Jordan trains with the National youth squad at UEA City of Norwich Swimming club and in July 2016 was offered a place on the England Talent Programme following his numerous national competition wins in 2016.
We are looking forward to supporting Jordan as he continues his career alongside his coach, Alex Pinniger, who has previously coached one swimmer to Paralympic Gold in the S14 200m freestyle category at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
We operate a simple winter and summer rate with no price rises over the school holidays. We do operate a two night minimum stay policy at weekends.
The car park, village, and walk to the river Lune on the cycle path are all flat as Caton is in a valley, ideal for pushchairs or wheelchair users.
By car - two miles east from Junction 34 of the M6. By train - five miles from the main west coast line, two and a half hours from London. By bus - a good route from Lancaster bus station takes only 15 mins. By air - Manchester Airport is an hour away by car. There is also a direct train from the airport.
We offer a winter rate on a sliding scale, no increases over the Christmas period, so two nights is only £150, four nights only £265. Choice of arrival and leaving day. Have a cosy break with friends or family, we sleep up to six people.
