Rivendell Guest House in Keswick is an exquisite Victorian property, decorated in a style befitting its period. We're ideally situated just a four minute walk from Keswick town centre shops, markets and arts centres and our beautifully presented bed and breakfast is perfect for walking holidays, offering easy access into the Northern Fells. Most of our exquisitely decorated bedrooms, which include family rooms, are en-suite. Plentiful parking is adjacent and guests are welcome to store their bikes in our drying room area.
Seven guest rooms include doubles, twins and family rooms. We have four bright and spacious double/twin rooms with en-suite facilities and two single rooms, one on the first floor with a separate bathroom and the other on the second floor with a private en-suite.
For guests requiring more space we have two first floor family size rooms sleeping up to 3 in a double or twin and a single bed.
Group bookings of up to 15 guests are welcome.
All our rooms are centrally heated and decorated to a high standard with a TV, hospitality tray and complementary toiletries for your comfort and convenience. Peacefully situated, visitors are guaranteed a restful and enjoyable stay.
Breakfasts are prepared using the finest locally sourced Lakeland produce.
We offer an outstanding central location in the North Lakes, just a gentle stroll from Keswick town centre shops, restaurants, bars and attractions.
Minimum stay is 2 nights.
Check-in is from 11am to the latest 1pm. We request you check out of your rooms on depature day by 10.30am.
With a well stocked supply of books and guides on Keswick and the local area available to guests in the B&B, you'll find ample inspiration for outdoor activities and walking in the nearby Northern Fells and in the Newlands area just west of Derwent Water where you'll find the popular Cat Bells walk. A selection of guided walks are also available from Moot Hall tourist information centre in Keswick.
Enjoy beautiful scenic boat trips on nearby Derwent Water or take in a cutting edge drama play at Keswick's Theatre by the Lake. A wide choice of chic restaurants, bars, traditional inns and independent shops cluster around bustling North Lakes centre Keswick and not to be missed is the weekly Keswick Saturday Market.
From the M6 motorway exit at Junction 40 (Penrith) and travel west towards Keswick. After 1 mile passing the village of Threlkeld look for a left slip road signed keswick/Windermere (A591). Take this exit off the A66. At the end of the slkp-road keep to the left, and at the next T-junction take a right turn.
After passing the Fire and Ambulance stations take the third turning on the left (Greta Street). Carry on over the next junction, and at the next Junction take a right turn - Rivendell Guest House is just on the right hand side.
From Ambleside & the South Lakes - follow the A591 heading into Keswick, and follow instructions above from passing the Fire Station.
