Allerdale Guest House in the Lake District market town of Keswick is a 4 star Silver Award Guest House B&B with high quality en-suite guest rooms exclusively for adults. The house was built in 1877 and now offers all the guest facilities what you would expect from a small personally run guesthouse including free private parking and free Wi-Fi access throughout the house. Allerdale House is one of the few guesthouses in Keswick which is owned and run by a local couple. Being born and raised in Keswick – we can provide extensive knowledge on the area and surroundings.
Our selection of guest rooms are decorated to a high standard, each with a modern en-suite bathroom. Room choice includes five double rooms with twin capabilities on request. All rooms include flat screen TVs, hairdryers, well stocked hospitality trays, radio alarm clocks, complimentary toiletries and free Wi-Fi is available throughout the house.
We are proud holders of the Visit England Breakfast Award. Our breakfasts are locally sourced whenever possible and served each morning in our dining room. We offer a buffet of cereals, fruit and yoghurt followed by a full Cumbrian or vegetarian cooked breakfast. Special dietary needs can be catered for on request and we can also make lighter cooked options.
The guest lounge is ideal for relaxing in after a long day exploring the Lake District. We also have a range of maps, local guides and journals with information about attractions and popular walking routes – many of which are just a few minutes from the house.
Our private car park has a designated space for each guest room which is provided for free with your room booking. Sorry – we cannot accommodate pets and are a non-smoking establishment. All rooms have full central heating for your comfort.
We are set in an ideal location just a five minute level stroll to the centre of Keswick with its traditional market, shops, pubs and restaurants and a lot of the famous walks start from our front door. Ten minutes walking will take you to the shores of Derwentwater and The Theatre By The Lake – We can organise discounted tickets for the Theatre on request.
Short breaks are available at a minimum of 2 nights (please call for 1 night breaks) and 3 nights minimum over Bank Holidays and New Year.
Taking the A591 through Ambleside, drop down the hill and after seeing the Keswick town sign take the 2nd left turn into Manor Brow. Drop down the hill passing Castlerigg Manor on your right hand side. Keep going down the hill and round a hairpin bend. After the bend take the 2nd road on the right, Eskin Street. We are the first guest house on the left hand side. From Penrith. At Junction 40 take the first road off the roundabout, A66, for approx 13 miles. At the first sign for Keswick take the slip road down the hill. Turn left at the junction up the hill on the A591 towards Windermere for approx half a mile. Take the first turning right onto Manor Brow. Drop down the hill passing Castlerigg Manor on your right hand side. Keep going down the hill and round a hairpin bend. After the bend take the 2nd road on the right, Eskin Street. We are the first guest house on the left hand side.
