Evening dinner is served daily at 7pm. We try to offer our guests a taste of the Lakes and although many dishes have a regional flavour we offer something for everyone including traditional English and modern international. All are complemented with a carefully selected wine menu, mouthwatering desserts and we can cater for specific dietary by prior request.
A comfortable lounge bar with lake view is available during your stay - the perfect spot for a relaxing drink. We also offer ample free off road parking on-site, bicycle storage and a small drying room. Please note we are a non smoking establishment
Portinscale village inn, cafes and Derwentwater lakeside are all within easy walking distance. We're perfect for theatre breaks taking in a show at the Keswick's waterfront Theatre by the Lake.
If you enjoy walking, leave your car in the guest house car park and head off towards Cat Bells and Newlands Valley or round the lake for a relatively flat but stunning route. Maps and advice available.
Keswick is on your doorstep but you are also close to Cockermouth, Penrith, Ambleside Windermere and even the Solway coast. where you can play some of the best golf in England!

From the M6: Take junction 40 and head West on the A66 towards Keswick. After passing the third turning into Keswick you will see signs for a left turn into Portinscale. Turn left and into the village. Head past the Farmers Arms (local pub) and round the next left bend in the road - Dalegarth House is situated immediately on your left (turn left up a small road beside 'Dorothy Well' to the car park).
