A beautifully converted stable coachhouse, Stable Cottage in the charming hamlet of Stank is the perfect gateway into the Lake District National Park and sits within our small working farm on the outskirts of Barrow in Furness. The spectacular Morecambe Bay coast is just 3 miles away and the cottage is just 15 miles south of Lake Windermere and Coniston. Activities and attractions right on our doorstep range of walking, fishing and cycling to wild animal parks, market towns and ancient chapels. A choice of nature reserves also sit within a 5 mile radius.
A large private garden with outdoor furniture and extensive lawn space surrounds the property. Ample parking is on-site.
Stable Cottage is non-smoking throughout and sorry no dogs. Modern electric heaters are throughout.
Changeover day is usually Saturday - we can be flexible on start dates. Please contact us direct to discuss. Special packages for couples booking a mid-season break are also available.
The cottage is just 1 mile from shops, inns and a post office, and 3 miles from the beautiful Morecambe Bay Coast. A wide range of attractions and activities are within a 5 mile radius of the cottage including Furness Abbey, Walney nature reserves and Piel Island and Castle.
Other popular attractions within easy driving distance include the Laurel & Hardy Museum in Ulverston and Holker Hall and Gardens in Cartmel. The southern edge of Lake Windermere is just 15 miles away.
