You'll find the Blacksmiths Arms in the idyllic village of Talkin near Brampton, providing a warm welcome whether you're visiting for a relaxing drink, a meal with the family or an overnight stay. We have a lovely beer garden that's perfect for the summer months, and The Old Forge Restaurant is open every day with a full menu of meals, bar snacks plus a wide range of drinks including cask ales. We also serve a great Sunday Lunch or visit us on other days and choose from our range of daily specials or a la carte menu. We're only half a mile from the breathtaking Talkin Tarn, and an ideal choice for walkers, with great accommodation available on a B&B basis. Carlisle can be found just a short drive away and we are also ideally placed for visiting the Northern Lakes. Golf, fishing, pony trekking and other country pursuits are all available in the surrounding area.
We have lovely, spacious bedrooms including private bathrooms. Each room has a hospitality tray, and they all include in-room TVs. Single, double and twin rooms are available, and we serve a full English breakfast for all guests each morning. Check in time is between 2.30pm and 9pm and we ask that you vacate your room by 1.30am on your departure day unless a later check out time has been arranged.
We are conveniently situated nine miles east of Carlisle and just eight miles from junction 43 of the M6 motorway. Brampton is three miles away and set in the pretty village of Talkin, ideal for visiting the Borders, Hadrian's Wall, Cumbrian coast and Lake District.
