Ann Tysons House B&B in Hawkshead is located in one of the Lake District's most beautiful villages and is surrounded by breathtaking fell views and lush forest. This historic Grade II Listed lakeland cottage is named after its original owner, a woman known as Ann Tyson, and was also the childhood home of the Romantic poet William Wordsworth. Offering a choice of charming B&B services including a selection of en suite rooms and a hearty breakfast served each morning, or self catering accommodation for up to five people, you'll be delighted to discover this hidden lakeland gem.
The village of Hawkshead is a place of charm and character with its whitewashed buildings, narrow cobbled streets and alleyways. Once an important market town for wool trade, William Wordsworth lived at Ann Tyson's while he was at grammar school, and the village is now a popular holiday destination. The village itself has a selection of quaint gift shops, restaurants and CAMRA recommended inns serving food and local fine ales. A local bus service connects the rest of the Lakes and an excellent network of footpaths and bridleways offers a multitude of opportunities.
Ann Tysons House is a family run B&B offering a choice of double, twin, single and family rooms, all either with en suite or private facilities. For ease of access there are bedrooms available on the ground floor, ideal for those who find stairs a problem or wish to bring their dog. All rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished and equipped with a colour TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Parking is free during your stay by way of a permit issued on arrival and covers the main pay & display car park.
