The Elephant's Nest Inn is a quintessentially English country pub nestled within the Dartmoor National Park. It's an ideal place to come and stay, eat and drink in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. To help this, the pub has thick stone walls and slate floors, and open log fires. Outside is a large garden which features stunning views of the moor, while the nearby area offers plenty of opportunity for country walks.

Guest rooms are located in a newly built extension which respects the original 16th century architecture while blending in modern facilities.
Each of the three bedrooms is generously sized and features an en-suite bath or shower room. They're beautifully finished with solid oak floors and under floor heating.
They also include luxury Vi-Spring beds, goose down duvets and pillows, soft furnishings, a flat screen TV, digital radio, telephone, hairdryer, fridge and tea/coffee making facilities.
Children are welcome to stay for an additional £5 per child, per child. Dogs are also allowed in the room for an £5 per dog, per night.
A freshly cooked breakfast is the perfect thing to coax you out of bed in the morning.
The menu includes the traditional full English, eggs cooked how you like them, omelette with a choice of fillings, kippers, haddock, kedgeree and the very special fresh Brixham scallops and bacon. There's also a great breakfast buffet with fresh fruit salad, fruit juice, croissants, cereal, porridge and toast.
The pub has its own cricket ground which plays host to a full range of matches throughout the summer season. Who knows, you might be even be invited to play.
Special events can also be catered for and there are facilities for smaller birthdays or large marquees for weddings, parties and auctions.
The Elephant's Nest Inn prides itself on producing the best quality food using only the finest ingredients. This includes beef from local herds, lamb and pork from local farms, fresh fish, English cheeses from Tavistock, and fruit and vegetables from Helston.
Lunch, evening and Sunday menus feature a range of dishes including a number for vegetarians.
Both Hillbridge and Tavy Cleave are both great for local walks and routes will take you down to the river, the moorland and beyond.
