Around and About

Ferndale Lodge is located in the heart of the Lake District National Park in the beautiful village of Ambleside and just a few minutes from the shores of Lake Windermere.

A number of cafes, speciality shops, restaurants, pubs and a multi-screen cinema are all within a few minutes walking distance of our front door.

The area is also ideal for exploring Windermere, Grasmere and Keswick which are a 20-30 minute drive either side of the village. There are bus services which run through the village including the open top bus service – ideal for sightseeing.

From J36 on the M6, take the A591 past Kendal and Windermere. At the traffic lights at Waterhead on the outskirts of Ambleside, take the left fork and follow this road for approx 1 mile, until it becomes a two lane one way street, take the right hand lane and follow the road until you reach a T junction. Turn right and then immediately right into the Pay & Display car park. In the car park take the first left into our private car park.
