Holmeshead is our lovely hill farm in a wonderful peaceful setting just above Skelwith Fold and only a ten minute drive from Ambleside or Hawkshead. Traditionally this Langdale Valley is an excellent and quite famous walking and climbing area. Our historic farmhouse can trace its origins back to the 17th century and although now modernised we've retained as much of it's features and heritage as possible, with beams and mullioned leaded windows. We're surrounded by grounds, lawns and views and the pond is quite a beauty spot to relax by.
We offer a choice of three guest rooms, a twin, double or a family room. All are en-suite and have hospitality trays, television, hair dryers and alarm clock radios. They enjoy south facing views across the lawns and meadows towards Latterbarrow Fell and some have glimpses of Lake Windermere. Our charming breakfast room doubles as a cosy lounge in the evenings with real fires when the weather is a little cooler. We serve a generous full English breakfast and will cater for vegetarian and special diets with a little prior notice. Should you be heading out to explore the surrounding fells then packed lunches can also be provided.
Children are welcome, also dogs provided our working farm and home are respected. We have an extensive knowledge of the area and our hallway has a large supply of leaflets and brochures for walks and local attractions.
For horse and pony trekkers we will provide warm secure stabling accommodation
