Boasting a fantastic location on the edge of the Langdale Valley, Halfway House is a beautiful traditional Lakeland cottage with traditional features and stunning surroundings views.
Our charming cottage has three bedrooms, free parking and is within a short drive of Ambleside, Windermere and Grasmere. It is perfectly situated in the very heart of the National Park near Skelwith – appealing to keen walkers and cyclists.
Full of home comforts and a range of mod cons, Halfway House is a well equipped self catering property with off road parking, secure bike and boat storage and its own private garden and decking with views.
Retaining many original features alongside a blend of stylish refurbishments and furnishings, the cottage provides a fantastic base for a Lake District getaway.
The kitchen is fully equipped for self catering with appliances and utilities inclusive of an oven, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and laundry facilities. All utensils, glasses, crockery, pots and pans are provided. There is also a dining table with seating for seven.
The lounge boasts plenty of natural light and has three large sofas set around a TV with DVD player for entertainment. The room is set under beamed ceilings and has an original inglenook fireplace.
Three bedrooms in the cottage are spread over the ground and first floor. There is a ground floor double room which has its own en-suite bathroom with shower over bath.
Upstairs are a further two rooms; one double and one twin with access to a spacious family bathroom.
Accessible from the kitchen doors is a raised decking area complete with outdoor furnishings and a BBQ. The decking is ideal for al fresco dining and has views across the private garden and countryside beyond.
There is a large pond at the front of the property with a picnic bench for guests to enjoy.
Bed linen is provided for your arrival and there is a high chair provided for younger guests. Please bring your own towels. There is also an extra Z bed for an additional guest.
There are three off road parking spaces outside the cottage and we also have storage facilities for bikes, canoes and small boats.
There are a selection of CDs and board games provided in the cottage. We may accept pets in the cottage during your stay - please let us know in advance if you are thinking of bringing a pet.
Short breaks of three nights or more are available off peak. For additional guests there is another cottage onsite for two people. If you wish to book the cottages together please contact us in advance.
Halfway House occupies a fantastic central lakes location at the mouth of the Langdale Valley. This magnificent setting boasts stunning views over River Brathay and the Langdale Pikes beyond.
An abundance of outdoor activities are available straight from the front door of the cottage with walks up Loughrigg Fell and along Rydal Water with its waters edge caves and woodlands. The River Brathay is also a popular choice for kayaking and canoeing.
Family activities nearby include Grizedale Forests Go Ape, boat trips across Lake Windermere (about 10 miles from the cottage) of you may fancy a wonder around some of the quaint Lakeland villages nearby. Ambleside is an excellent base from which to tour the Lake District with a number of outdoor shops, craft stores, galleries and eateries.
