About Storm Cottage

Award-winning Storm Cottage in the heart of Whitby's historic East Side is a beautifully modernised fisherman's cottage, perfect for a romantic break.  This stone cottage, combining original beams and sash windows with a contemporary interior, is conveniently close to the picturesque harbour with its lively wine bars and award winning restaurants. The cottage sleeps two and is near to the 199 steps leading up to Whitby Abbey, one of the finest examples of Anglo Saxon churches in the country with a churchyard that gave Bram Stoker the inspiration to write his world famous book, Dracula.  To book your stay, why not phone us today?


Accommodation comprises:-

  • Ground floor living room with a Bose stereo, satellite TV, a DVD player, a dining area, walnut floor and fireplace.
  • A fully fitted contemporary kitchen with a microwave, oven, dishwasher, washing machine and tiny courtyard with bistro table and chairs.

Bedroom / Bathroom

  • First floor luxury limestone tiled shower room and separate dressing room.
  • Second floor king-size double bedroom with an iPod docking station, alarm, Philippe Starck lamps and pretty chandelier.


A cosy courtyard area includes outdoor furniture.

Other Things to Note

Bed linen and towels are provided.


Changeover day is usually a Friday, and short breaks (minimum 2 night stays) are available by prior arrangement with the owner.


Ellerby Lane runs between Church Street near The White Horse and Griffin and Sandgate on the East Side of Whitby.
