Can't wait to return" Gwen from Leeds, 26th Dec 2014.
‘’Nice converted barn cottage on the South edge of the Lakes. Easily large enough to accommodate 4 adults & 3 children (one baby). The ground floor is an open plan Kitchen/Dining area/Lounge layout which gives a great feeling of space, it doesn't feel like you're on top of each other even with many people. The internet was easily fast enough for iPlayer/Netflix etc. and there were even some toys to keep the children entertained on a rainy day. The village is small with narrow streets like many in this area, however this village has its own free car park which is just 2 minutes walk from the cottage so even with multiple cars (the cottage has space for 1 car) parking is easy. Close to the South Lakes Zoo which is well worth a visit. Much bigger than expected, and in the winter it only cost £6 to get in’’ – Simon New year, 2015.
A lovely cottage in a quiet village. We had a very good rest after traveling in the lake areas for a whole day. Quite a nice place for a few days break - Sen, Birmingham in August 2015
We had a cozy 2-night stay at Jane's little cottage. The neighborhood is really quiet and nice. The only thing we were not used to was the bath (we had to hold the shower head). But everything else was very enjoyable! A big thank you to Jane and her family – Kitty from California in May ’15.
Using The Cottage as a base you can travel to Coniston, Newby Bridge & Ambleside. Travel up the West coast to the Ravenglass railway, Maryport & Cockermouth.
Close by is the safari park at Dalton and lovely eating pubs at Broughton in Furness.
The Greyhound at Grizebeck is a great pub for food, with the speciality ‘pie of the day’ highly recommended! It is a five minute drive from the cottage.
