Sherwood Glen Guest House is ideally situated between the coast and moors just three miles from the seaside resort of Whitby. Situated in the village of Sleights on the very edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, Sherwood Glen is ideal for walkers, cyclists and as a touring base for this beautiful area.
The Garden Studio
Perfect for guests requiring a little more space, our professionally converted detached studio is furnished with a king size bed, comfortable leather sofa, a widescreen TV with FreeSat service and an ensuite shower room. There is also a dining table seating two and the small kitchen area is equipped with a fridge, microwave, sink, twin burner gas hob, toaster, kettle plus plenty of crockery, cutlery and cookware. Studio guests take breakfast in guests' dining room in the main house.

The Lloyd Bedroom
Our second superior bedroom enjoying a scenic outlook towards Battle Banks over the garden.
Each of our superior guest rooms are presented with Laura Ashley linens, leather armchairs, a wide screen TV with FreeSat service and a large ensuite bathroom. Other in-room facilities include a hair dryer, hospitality tray, complimentary toiletries and Egyptian cotton towels.
A tasty Yorkshire breakfast is is served in our guest's dining room in the main house between 8am and 9am.
Guests can also enjoy tea and homemade scones in the garden or in the dining room between 3pm and 6pm each day.
Private off street parking and free Wi-Fi service are available for all guests.

Perfectly located for walks from the house onto moorland and as a base for visiting Whitby with its cobbled streets and ancient ruined abbey, strolling in Goathland the home of Yorkshire TV's "Heartbeat", "fossilling" at Robin Hoods Bay, beachcombing at Sandsend and Saltwick, boating along the River Esk at Ruswarp, riding the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, walking the Cleveland Way, cycling along the disused Whitby to Scarborough railway track or simply exploring the rugged coast and beautiful moors countryside.
Travelling from York - take the the A64 towards Scarborough, then the A169 towards Whitby. After crossing the North Yorkshire Moors, descend Blue Bank into Sleights. Just after passing the village Post Office take the turning on your right "Lowdale Lane." Orchard Road is the third lane on the right. Turn into Orchard Road and Sherwood Glen is on your right through the green iron gates. Parking is at the top of the drive. Please watch out for the free roaming chickens. Travelling from Teesside - take the A171 towards Whitby, descend Skelder Bank with Whitby in the distance. Turn right onto the A169 towards Pickering and descend Sleights Bank. Cross the River Esk and enter Sleights village. Pass Botham's Bakery and take the first turning on your left "Lowdale Lane." Orchard Road is the third lane on the right. Turn into Orchard Road and Sherwood Glen is on your right through the green iron gates. Parking is at the top of the drive. Please watch out for the free roaming chickens.
