Based on the grounds of a beautiful working watermill in the heart of the Dorset country, The Granary in Hants is a unique two floor apartment which has been converted from an old warehouse. Retaining many of its original features with a twist of modern and luxurious furnishings throughout, it is the ideal place to unwind and relax away from everyday life. This apartment is pet friendly and is in a great location for those who wish to explore Dorset, West Hampshire, Salisbury, the Wiltshire Downs and the New Forest.
This apartment sleeps four to six people and is accessed via an external staircase. The entrance hall leads into a wonderfully fitted kitchen with a smart interior. This room is ideal for a self catering holiday and is inclusive of a dishwasher, electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and a range of other essentials including cutlery and crockery. The gallery style living area on the first floor is truly unique with high ceilings, a feature fireplace and striking oak beams throughout with comfy sofas and a large dining table. Entertainment facilities include a TV, DVD player, video and CD player. There is also a double sofa bed in the living area. A small staircase leads to second floor which houses a beautifully presented triple bedroom with one double bed and a single. A fantastic oak beam runs at knee height through the room with stairs up and over. There is a family bathroom on this floor with a bath only. Relax in the large garden area with furnishings and a BBQ, perfect for alfresco dining.
All bed linen is included in the price of booking and beds are made up for your arrival. There is an onsite washing machine for guests to use. We welcome well behaved dogs at the property with prior arrangement. Unfortunately we are unable to take children under 8 years old due to the proximity of the river.
If you enjoy fishing, private fishing is available. Grayling and Trout are just two of the more popular species in the river. We can supply bait and a secure lock-up for fishing tackle. Our 14th century working Mill is open for cream teas and the sale of bread and flour. Milling demonstrations take place on Sundays at 3pm between Easter and October.
