About this Holiday Cottage

This deceptively spacious 4* Whitby cottage has been recently refurbished and all the luxurious furnishings have been included make you feel at home. Here guests will stay in a warm and comfortable self catering holiday cottage with modern facilities and original features. The centrally located cottage the added bonus of a parking space right outside, although access down the yard is through a 6' 6" arch, so please measure your car's width! A brief stroll from the cottage will find you in the Heart of Whitby with enough activities and sights to keep you busy for weeks.

Inside

The porch at the front leads into a large lounge with beamed ceiling, feature exposed brickwork and traditional wooden floor. Five steps lead down to a similar sized kitchen/dining room. The lounge area is equipped with 32" television having Sky, DVD and video player in addition to a comprehensive library of books, maps, CDs, DVDs and games.

The fully fitted kitchen is complete with oven and hob, fridge with small freezer, washing machine, microwave, kettle and toaster. Free WiFi internet is provided.

Bedrooms

Monkshaven Cottage has a double and twin bedroom to accommodate 4 people comfortably. We also provide a travel cot and high chair.

Outside

This is a unique cottage with the added bonus of a parking space for a small to medium car right outside, only yards from good restaurants and pubs yet set back from the yard making it a quiet and peaceful place to relax.

Short breaks are available all year round with the exception of July, August and school and bank holidays.

Around and About

Whitby offers guests a classic seaside experience with a host of small shops selling a variety of models, arts and crafts and jewellery. You can visit the many seafood restaurants serving up freshly caught fish dishes in a variety of ways. Visit the inspiration for Bram Stokers 'Dracula', Whitby Abbey which towers over the town and covers hundreds of years of history. Take a tour around Whitby which inspired Lewis Carroll in ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’ and 'Through the Looking Glass'. Further afield guests can visit Scarborough and its seaside attractions. The Monkshaven Cottage offers an ideal location to explore the stunning and historic town and the Yorkshire Moors.

White Horse Yard is next to the White Horse and Griffin Hotel in cobbled Church St. The cottage is the first cottage on the left half way down the yard with the parking space in front.
