Welcome to The Marquis of Lorne pub near Nettlecombe, a charming 16th century establishment serving an excellent choice of real ales and delicious food. We also have a well appointed range of guest rooms ideal for families, couples or walking exploring the beautiful Dorset countryside.
Our seven four poster guest rooms include comfortable double, one twin bedroom and a four poster room offering wonderful views over Eggerdon Hill. All are well equipped with Freeview TV, complimentary toiletries, a hair dryer and tea/ coffee making facilities.
Lunch is served from Midday to 2pm and dinner is available from 6pm to 9pm. We serve a range of delicious meals which are created from locally sourced produce where available. These are accompanied by a choice of real ales, Thatcher's Gold Cider, Guinness and wines from around the world. We have featured in numerous guides such as the Cask Marque Award of Excellence for Real Ale, AA Top 500 Places to Stay, The Good Pub Guide, The Good Beer Guide, The Real Ale Pub Guide and the AA Good Pub Guide.
Single occupancy stays are available and we can provide extra beds/ cots in guest rooms for families. Pets are not accepted.
The Marquis of Lorne is situated in Nettlecombe, approximately 4 miles North-East of Bridport, just half a mile from Powerstock.
From Bridport, turn off the A3066 Bridport - Beaminster road (about 1 1/2 miles North of Bridport) following the sign for Loders & Mangerton Mill. At the junction, bear left past Mangerton Mill, drive through West Milton and continue for a further mile, then at the T junction (signposted Powerstock left) go straight over. The Marquis of Lorne is up the hill, approximately 300 yards further on the left.
