There are three Dyfi Chalets, available separately or together, (discount negotiable for more than one chalet) so perfect for an extended family or group of friends wanting to stay together: up to 15 can be accommodated in total. The chalets overlook the River Dyfi which meanders by on its way to the sea, passing through spectacular mountain scenery on the way. The nearest village is Pennal, a small cluster of stone cottage and chapels, which boasts two shops, a pub and a post office.
The nearby historic town of Machynnleth was once the ancient capital of Wales and is now a leading centre of alternative technology, family holidays and eco tourism. There is a weekly market which provides the perfect opportunity to sample the local produce and get a real feel for local life. An Outward Bound Centre lies between Aberdyfi and the chalets where visitors can arrange for tuition in the arts of sailing or canoeing. The surrounding hills and mountains offer plentiful opportunities for walking, from everything to a light ramble to a full on hike.
Each chalet has two bedrooms and sleeps up to 5 people; with a double bed in one bedroom, and 2 bunk beds (the lower of which can extend to a double) in the other, all of which makes Dyfi Chalets ideal for family's and children. All chalets have continental quilts & pillows: - you can choose to have clean bed linen and towels provided for a small extra cost or bring your own along with you.
The Chalets overlook the River Dyfi which meanders towards the sea, passing through spectacular mountain scenery - the peaks of Cader Idris and Aran Fawddwy range are within easy reach - finally becoming a 2.5Km wide sandy estuary as it reaches Cardigan Bay. The landscape of this area is simply beautiful. Many areas of the river and estuary are classified as SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) and it has been designated as Wales’s first biosphere reserve by UNESCO. It is a good place to enjoy bird watching, being a noted breeding and over-wintering area for a variety of birds. Along the southern banks of the river there are several nature reserves.
