Around and About

The Lake District is renowned for the sheer beauty of its National Park and has been inscribed in the literary and the art history of Britain by notables such as William Wordsworth, John Ruskin and Beatrix Potter.  Lake Windermere is 'Swallows and Amazons' territory and excellent fly fishing territory.

Explore nearby Ambleside and local Lakeland history at the wonderful Armitt Museum and Library, or take a boat trip on Lake Windermere which is within walking distance.  A wide choice of fine restaurants, inns and tearooms are within easy reach in nearby Windermere village and in Bowness on Windermere.
