The Riverside Rooms feature super spacious wet rooms, and the bedroom also has plenty of turning space and a patio area with river views. A delicious breakfast is included in booking, served in our Garden Dining Room with panoramic views of the garden, surrounding countryside and the Mendip Hills beyond. Stay with us over the festive December season where we decorate the property in a charming traditional style.
We now have our own Tea Rooms on site. Offering breakfasts, light lunches and more decadent Afternoon Teas for which we are becoming well known! If you are just passing through though maybe a slice of delicious homemade cake and a good cup of tea or coffee might hit the spot.
In addition to B&B accommodation, we can also offer self-catering accommodation as well.
Breakfast at Double Gate Farm is a real treat with a variety of options including a hearty traditional farmhouse breakfast,or other cooked choices such as smoked kippers or pancakes with a selection of toppings . Special diets are happily catered for and our buffet selection includes breakfast cereals, yoghurt, fruit (fresh or stewed) and juices.
'Winter Warmer' special breakfasts are by candlelight with extras on the menu including creamy porridge and hot milk.
Check-in is from 16:00 to 18.00 (early/late check-ins are possible by arrangement with the proprietor), and check-out is by 10:00. Children welcome. Sorry no pets please (assistance dogs are welcome).
We're perfectly placed for touring, just a short distance from Cheddar Gorge, fun family attraction Wookey Hole Caves, the Cathedral City of Wells and Glastonbury with its famous Tor and festival. The farmhouse is also only around 20 to 25 minutes' away from The Royal Bath and West Showground.
Excellent fishing is available just at the bottom of our garden (local licences are required and please bring along your own rods). We're also only 5 minutes from Westhay Nature Reserve in the Mendip Hills Area Of Outstanding Beauty, famous for its starling roosts.
From Wells: Take the A39 (Glastonbury Road), go through Coxley to Polsham and turn right (signed Godney). Approximately 2 miles to the crossroads (pink house on left), straight over (signed Lower Godney/Village Hall). Approximately 1 mile to Double-Gate Farm on the left after the Sheppey Inn.
From Glastonbury: Exit M3 at Junction 8 onto the A303 (West), at Podimore roundabout, take A372 exit, take B3151 turning on the right (signed Somerton/Street/Glastonbury). In Street go straight over mini-roundabout onto Glaston Road, next 2 roundabouts exit A39 (signed Wells), at Northload Bridge roundabout take the first exit B3151 (signed Wedmore). Take the first right, signed Godney, approximately 2 miles to the crossroads (pink house on left), turn left signed Lower Godney/Village Hall), approx 1 mile to Double-Gate Farm on the left after the Sheppey Inn.
