Brimming with historic character, Elen’s Castle Hotel is an 18th Century coaching inn providing fantastic accommodation in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park.
Formally owned by Baron Gwydir and part of the Earl of Ancaster's Welsh estate, the property became a hotel in about 1870 when it was sold to the gamekeeper to open as a hotel which specialised in hunting parties. It now retains much period charm including an olde worlde bar packed with historical paraphernalia. We recently undertook a major refurbishment of 50% of our guest rooms and also decorated the remaining half.
We are proud to be part of Quality in Tourism's schemes welcoming both walkers and cyclists. We also hold the Green Tourism Business Award (Silver).
The delightful rooms at Elen’s Castle are charming and individual with ensuite bath and shower rooms, ideal for a soak after a long walk in the surrounding countryside. Providing comfort and peace, our rooms include doubles, a twin room, two family suites and two romantic four poster rooms with superb views over the Lledr Valley.
Each room is well equipped to make your stay with us completely relaxed including a TV, DVD player, hairdryer, alarm clock, a well- stocked hospitality tray and free access to super fast WiFi in most rooms. Bed linen and towels are included in each room.
Delicious Welsh cooked breakfasts are served daily to order and are fully inclusive in your room booking. Vegetarian and gluten free options are available as standard and special diets are happily catered for on request.
The Siabod Restaurant and our Garden Room boast magnificent views over the Lledr Valley and provide an informal and friendly environment where you can choose from a range of beautiful home-cooked dishes. Having recently won the Rural Conwy Business ‘Eating Out’ award, we take pride in sourcing our ingredients locally and producing delicious dishes. Our menu includes vegetarian and gluten free options and we also provide a separate children’s menu.
We also have a comprehensive wine menu. The bar lounge is perfectly fitted to the rustic character of the hotel. Ideal for relaxing after a long day exploring the National Park and North Wales, our well-stocked bar is cosy and welcoming with an open log fire lit during the chilly winter evenings. Whatever your occasion for staying with us, you can be assured of excellent personal service with friendly and attentive hosts.
A drying room is provided for guests use.
Children under 2 stay for free. Cots and cot bedding can be provided at a charge. Discounts may be available for single occupancy. We welcome pets to our hotel but can only accommodate for a certain number so if you are thinking of bringing your four- legged friend, please contact us in advance.
