About this Pub Accommodation

Located in the centre of the tranquil conservation village of Allanton, Berwickshire, is The Allanton Inn. This historical, former coaching inn dates back to the 18th century and it offers modern dining and comfortable accommodation. It's the perfect Scottish retreat, stop over location or a base for exploring the area. The English border is only fives miles away while Edinburgh can be reached in an hour.

There are also plenty of opportunities for walking, golf, horse riding and cycling, not to mention a wealth of attractions within a 20 mile radius. 

Bedrooms / Bathrooms

The Allanton Inn has six en-suite rooms and they seamlessly blend modern comfort with timeless decor. The rooms are found on the first floor and each is decorated with soft, muted colours - designed to mimic those often found in the Scottish landscape.

Bedrooms feature: plump cushions, original artwork on the walls, Egyptian cotton bedding, fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries. Also included is a TV with built in radio alarm clock, tea/coffee making facilities, and local history/information folder in each.

Rooms 6 and 7 are adjacent to one another and combined they form a family suite (which features a double and twin beds). A travel cot, baby monitor, and toys and games can all be provided for you.


Breakfast at The Allanton Inn ensures you have a perfect start to the the day. Choose from fresh fruit, yoghurts, local cheeses, homemade jams and marmalade, full cooked breakfasts, fresh eggs, smoked salmon, and Eyemouth kippers.

Bar and Restaurant

Lunch is served every from 12 - 2:30pm, while dinner is from 6 - 9pm. Daily blackboard specials and a children's menu are also available.

Fresh, local ingredients are always used in the meals with meat and poultry coming Peelham Farm; local farmer James delivering free range eggs; pork from Reivers Food, and honey from Chain Bridge Honey Farm.

The Inn has a fine selection of wine and champagnes, real ales and around 30 gins.

Guests can purchase fishing permits for Whiteadder Water. Rod restrictions apply.
