About this Hotel

Wheatlands Lodge is one of the largest family owned and run hotels in York. It's been established for over 30 years and occupies a prime location.

The hotel is within a short walking distance from the train station and York historical city centre which offer access to many attractions. York Minster, the Jorvik Viking Centre and the National Railway Museum are just a few of the recommended places to visit.

Restaurant & Bar

Wheatlands Hotel has a spacious and traditionally decorated bar lounge fully stocked with beers and an extensive list of wines and spirits. Real ales are supplied from the York Brewery down the road.

We served breakfasts and evening meals in our restaurant dining area and have a resident pianist who plays in the bar most Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

The hotel has a 24 hour reception should you have problems or require assistance.

There's a choice of ground floor bedrooms at Wheatlands Lodge, and public areas (bar, restaurant, and reception) are wheelchair accessible.

Please note that we are unable to accommodate pets. We welcome groups of all sizes (depending on availability). Please enquire directly for group rates.

Around and About

York is an exciting cosmopolitan city with fantastic historical architecture and sites including Western Europe's largest medieval cathedral, York Minster; York Races; The National Railway Museum; Jorvik Viking Centre; Cliffords Tower and the Castle Museum.

The city is packed with bustling bars and nightclubs and has a number of restaurants serving a range of cuisines. 


You can check in from 2pm and you must check out by 10am on your day of departure.

Children are very welcome and reduced rates are offered when sharing a room with full paying adults.
