The York Priory is a stunning period guest house in an excellent location just 10 minutes' walk from the historic city centre of York and all the attractions it has to offer. The Priory has a licensed bar and a new Orangery and Terrace overlooking the gardens and arches. Relax and enjoy a drink in our beautiful secluded gardens featuring Gothic stonework arches and garden furniture (there is also a covered smoking area).
The Orangery is perfect for all kinds of meetings, private functions, celebrations and small wedding parties. Pre-book the Orangery after 10am. Snacks and refreshments can be made available through the day.
A large private car park is to the rear with free parking available for all our guests. Our secluded gardens with Gothic arches situated close to the city centre are perfect for events and celebrations. The Orangery can also be booked as private function room space.
As the guest house is just a few minutes' walk from the city centre, you'll be ideally located to enjoy some of the many attractions that York is so famous for. Why not take a picturesque stroll into town alongside the river and visit the Jorvik Viking Centre, York Minster, National Railway Museum or Castle Museum? From the A1 North, continue on the A1 until you see the signs for A64 towards York. Take this exit and follow the A64 for 14 miles. As you approach York continue on A64 (ignore any signs directing you towards the city centre) which will take you over the River Ouse and past the Designer Outlet. At the Designer Outlet, follow signs for ‘A19 York City Centre’. You will find the York Priory 2 miles along that road on the left hand side.
From the M1 South and M62 West: as you are approaching Leeds on the M1 you will pass underneath the M62. Immediately after this, take the turning towards ‘Leeds East & A1’ which will take you onto the Leeds outer ring road. Follow the ring road for approximately 10 miles when it will join the A1. Then follow directions as above.
From the A1 North: continue on the A1 until you see the signs for A64 towards York. Then follow the directions as above.
From the M1 South and M62 West: as you are approaching Leeds on the M1 you will pass underneath the M62. From the A1 South: continue on the A1 until you see the A63 towards Selby. Drive through Selby and continue on the A19 towards York. When you reach the York boundary the guest house is 2 miles from this on the left hand side.
