Situated in a wonderful location overlooking Knavesmire Racecourse, Curzon Lodge is a charming early 17th Century Grade II house of immense character offering quality bed and breakfast accommodation close to York City Centre.
Formerly owned by the Terry's, one of York's most famous chocolate families, the lodge retains a wealth of period features including exposed beams, antique furnishings and some rooms offer four poster or Victorian brass bedsteads.
All our guest rooms are superbly equipped with a private bathroom with bath and/ or shower, a TV, central heating, hospitality tray, clock radio, hair dryer and easy chairs. Most bedrooms are furnished with antique pine and our five Stable Cottage ensuite bedrooms are particularly characterful with exposed beams and other period features retained.
Children over ten years old are welcome in our accommodation and our largest room in the Stables can sleep up to four people.
Enjoy a delicious full English breakfast which is served in our farmhouse kitchen dining room with original quarry tile floor.
Guests can also relax in our very pretty drawing room with a complimentary sherry or in the secluded walled garden with mature conifers and open views over Knavesmire.
We offer on site parking for up to 16 cars.
Please note that we do not accept pets. Our prices range from £40-£70 per person per night.
We are situated in an excellent location close to the A64 ring-road, beside the race-course and close to Micklegate Bar which offers the grandest entry into the medieval city of York. The historic attractions including York Minster and the City's ancient cobbled streets are within easy reach or take the short drive into 'Herriot Country' in the Yorkshire Dales.
Other attractions including Castle Howard, Harewood House and Fountains Abbey are all also just a short drive away. We are also close to local amenities including a range of restaurants just a one minute walk away.
