The city of York has a rich history which can be explored by visiting its ancient buildings and excellent museums. York Minster is the largest gothic cathedral north of the Alps and enjoys magnificent views of the city from the central tower. York Castle Museum allows the visitor to step back in time and wander through streets in Edwardian and Victorian England. Nearby Clifford's Tower was built by Henry III in the 13th Century and affords wonderful views over the city.
