Welcome to The Old Cider Lodge, an ancient and unique thatched cottage in the heart of the Devon countryside in the picturesque village of Kilmington.
Set in 2 acres of magnificent grounds, the cottage is surrounded by woodland gardens, landscaped ponds and trickling streams and is only a 15 minute drive to the South West Coast Path.
This lovely cottage features bundles of characters and has luxury touches throughout including a sauna, ample parking and Wi-Fi. We welcome well behaved pets in the cottage
The cottage enters into a spacious reception hall and has a downstairs WC.
Fully equipped for self catering, the traditional country style kitchen features and electric oven and four ring ceramic hob, fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave.
There is also a dining room on the ground floor. The lounge is set under beamed ceilings with a wood burning stove and is a comfortable base after a long day exploring the countryside.
Four bedrooms on the first floor accommodate a total of eight people. The landing is vaulted and decorated with traditional antique furnishings.
There are three double bedrooms and a twin bedroom, all rooms share access to a large bathroom with sauna.
Gardens outside the cottage are extensive and fantastic for exploring. There is a brick BBQ patio set next to a pond and acres of woodland gardens, landscaped ponds and beautiful lawns to enjoy.
Bed linen and towels are provided for your arrival. Please note that the sauna has a £1 meter for electric. Children are very welcome - parents please supervise children around the ponds and streams in the gardens.
Well behaved dogs are welcome to stay with you in the cottage - please contact us in advance if you would like to bring a dog.
The Old Cider Lodge is available for holidays and short breaks. Changeover day for this property is Saturday. Short breaks are available in the lower seasons with a minimum stay of 3 nights – please enquire for further information.
The property is only a short walk from the beautiful Kilmington Woods and village. There are a number of bridle paths and there is an old Roman road that is ideal for dog walking.The Armada Beacon in Shute Woods offers views over the Axe Valley Estuary and the sea.
A number of easy to reach local amenities are available including a well stocked farm shop, two pubs and a post office in Kilmington. Axminster is two miles from The Old Cider Lodge.
