Enjoy superb sea views towards Jura and Islay from the comfort of unique countryside house, Tobaroran on the Isle of Colonsay. Situated close to the harbour, the house offers fantastic access to the islands wide variety of activities such as golf, walking, cycling, fishing and boat tours. Spot seals on Colonsay’s famous unspoilt sandy beaches or watch golden eagles swoop over the rolling countryside. The comfortable property includes a small but well equipped kitchen and other great self-catering facilities. Dogs are welcome and the living room homes a wonderful open log fire.
The house consists of four separate bedrooms over two floors. On the ground floor you will find a twin bedroom with accompanying bathroom and shower room. The first floor accommodates a double bedroom, twin room and one large bedroom with two single beds and a bunk bed. There is also an upstairs bathroom. Downstairs a spacious and comfortable living room with open log fire and plenty of seating creates a great homely environment to relax in. A large dining room with wooden table adjoins a small but fully equipped kitchen. The house also includes a dishwasher, washing machine and clothes dryer. A large sunny garden outside is enclosed by a low drystone wall and comes with outdoor furnishings.
Changeover day throughout July and August is Wednesday. Short breaks of less than a week may be available during some periods, please enquire for more information. Up to two dogs are welcome at a small fee, this must be arranged before arrival. All bed linen and towels are included in booking. Electricity and coal are paid for separately.
Tobaroran is based close to the harbour and shoreline, giving great access to the Isle of Colonsay's famed stretches of beautiful sandy beaches. Various water based activities such as fishing, sailing and surfing are also easy to get to from the house. If you prefer to keep your feet on solid ground, there is access to golf courses, various long coastline walks and cycling all set within the spectacular scenery of the island.
The Caledonian MacBrayne car ferry service runs from the port of Oban to Colonsay six times a week during the summer months and three times a day in the winter. The journey takes two and a quarter hours. In the summer there are extra travel options on Wednesdays and Saturdays on ferries from Kennacraig, travelling via port Islay. A train service from Glasgow Queen Street to Oban returns three times a day and an air service to Oban makes two return flights a week on a Tuesday and Thursday.
