A unique property dating from the 1700s and sensitively refurbished throughout by the National Trust, Tarn Foot Cottage is a detached property within the beautiful Duddon Valley just west of Coniston Water.
The location at the foot of a mountain valley and a beck coming from Seathwaite Tarn is spectacular, with views towards surrounding crags and streams. Tarn Foot also refers to a breed of local award-winning Lakeland ponies! The western, central and southern fells are all within easy reach and the popular Newfield inn serving food is a 20 minute stroll away.
This stunning retreat sleeps two to three guests and is pet friendly with Wi-Fi internet access available and living space across two floors. A sitting and dining room with cosy woodburner, colour television, a DVD and CD player is on the ground floor featuring a beamed ceiling. A modern kitchen space also with beamed ceiling contains a microwave, dishwasher, an electric oven and hob and a fridge.
The first floor has a bedroom with a double sleigh bed and a single sleigh bed.
There's also a bathroom with washer/dryer, bath with shower over and WC.
Outside space includes two pretty enclosed areas with outdoor furniture, a BBQ and ample parking space all available.
Oil fired central heating, bed linen, electric and a starter pack of logs for the woodburner are included in booking, and the cottage benefits from its own water supply.
A travel cot, high chair and towels can all be hired if needed and village amenities including a post office, bus services and a shop are three miles from the property.
Short breaks are available.
