Around and About

The fishing port of Eyemouth is set just over the Scottish border, eight miles north of the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. Eyemouth has a traditional fish market supplied from local fishing boats, and the narrow cobbled streets preserve the ancient character of this charming coastal town. There are a number of visitor attractions outlining the history of the area, including its smuggling past. The cliff-top golf course and a number of other courses in the area mean the town is a golfing haven; there are also castles and National Trust properties all within a short drive. Both Edinburgh and Newcastle upon Tyne can be reached in an hour, making Eyemouth a perfect base for touring Scotland and the North of England.

From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.
