This lovely little town is full of quaint little alleys and a variety of yards which house many interesting shops offering a wide range of unusual gifts and mementos. Well known for its prize-winning floral displays, this pretty little town also has a leisure centre which offers outstanding sports facilities, whilst the riverside park with children's play area is also worth a visit for anyone travelling with a young family. As well as the award-winning Nidderdale Museum – a lively collection of displays illustrating all aspects of life in the Dales – the town also hosts a number of Craft Workshops as well as excellent opportunities for walking and bird watching both up and downstream in the Nidd Valley.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?
