In the heart of the ’Devonshire Cream Tea Country’
This spacious farmhouse was built approximately 400 years ago and has been beautifully appointed to a good standard throughout. Now a welcoming holiday home, it has a superb kitchen, beams, inglenook fireplaces and some exposed rafters. The Beaford area is marvellous walking territory; there are riverbank, moorland and country lane walks, and Chaplands is ideally placed for walking through the beautiful north Devon countryside. At the end of the day, refresh yourself in one of the very good, local, unspoiled country pubs in nearby villages such as Dolton, Winkleigh, Roborough and Iddesleigh, where Michael Morpurgo’s ’War Horse’ is set.. Set on the edge of the village with Dartmoor in full view, there are lovely walks along the Tarka Trail and Exmoor, fishing in the nearby Stafford Moor Lakes, and the north Devon coast is 15 miles. Torrington, with the RHS Rosemoor Garden is 5 miles away. Shop 100 yards, pub 2 miles.
