About this CottageThis beautifully kept holiday cottage dates back to the 1790s with many of the wonderful original features remaining, including beams and fireplaces, making it a warm and cosy place to stay both in winter and summer.
Lathkill Cottage was once a stone quarry worker’s cottage and nestles in a quiet location, where you can enjoy the unspoilt countryside over the Wye Valley whilst lazing in the lovingly landscaped garden watching the sunset with a nice glass of claret in your hand.
The quiet and unspoilt village of Stanton in Peak is just off the beaten track in the middle of the Peak National Park, some 500 feet above sea level between the market town of Bakewell (Bakewell tarts and puddings deserve a mention!) and equally, the famous town of Matlock and Matlock Bath, close to the historic houses of Chatsworth, the ancestral home of the Duke of Devonshire, and Haddon Hall, making a good base for visiting all the major attractions of the Peak District within a radius of 25 miles. An ideal location for walkers and hikers alike within easy reach of many of the surrounding trails. Shops 3 miles, pub 50 yards and restaurant 2 miles.
