Down the coast is Port Isaac, of TV series Doc Martin fame, where The Fisherman’s Friends sing live on the Platt on Friday summer evenings. A little further is Padstow with shops, pubs and restaurants including Rick Stein’s famous fish restaurant. From here you can take a ferry across to Rock to try the variety of watersports or walk or cycle along the Camel Trail, a haven for birdwatchers. The sandy beach at Trebarwith Strand is 4 miles. Within easy reach is horse riding, National Trust properties, the south west coastal path, golf courses at Bowood and Bude, surfing at Polzeath and Widemouth Bay. Shops, pubs and restaurants 3 miles.
