About this Cottage

Beautiful views

This detached, stone farmhouse, dating back to the 18th century, was previously situated on a working farm. Its predecessors included the great great grandparents of the famous poet Dylan Thomas, who are recorded as farming here in the late 18th to the early 19th century. Situated in 15 acres of land and accessed via a private lane, Fferm Y Graig offers peace and tranquillity in this secluded rural retreat, perfect for a relaxing getaway, with countryside views and an abundance of wildlife. The farmhouse has retained lots of its original character including open beams and an inglenook fireplace, where a traditional woodburner has been added for those cosy nights in. Outside is a raised patio area for guests to relax, with stunning views overlooking the surrounding farmland. Conveniently located close to the historical market town of Carmarthen, it is a great location for exploring in any direction. Nearby is Llansteffan Castle, with its stunning views and unspoilt beach.
The historic town of Laugharne is also close by, with its imposing castle and links to the famous Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. Within easy access are Tenby, Saundersfoot, Pendine and Amroth. There are numerous beaches and historical places of interest to visit within easy driving distance. Oakwood, Folly Farm, The National Botanical Gardens of Wales, Pembrey Country Park, Aberglasney Gardens and Anna’s Welsh Zoo provide fun days out for families looking for adventure. Horse riding, walking, cycling and golfing are all available locally. Fferm y Graig offers a perfect retreat for those who want to getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, but equally it offers a perfect base for those wanting to explore the hidden treasures of west Wales.
