The Old School House near Penistone sits on the north eastern edge of the Peak District National Park close to the multi-use Trans-Pennine Trail. Perfect for couples, friends sharing or small family groups, this cosy cottage is in an elevated spot with stunning moorland views. Sheffield and Barnsley are within a 30 minute drive and Leeds and York are under an hour's drive away. The cottage has all you'll need for a perfect rural escape including a woodburning stove and secure bike storage.
If you're arriving by train or bus to nearby Penistone and Glossop stations or Holmfirth bus station we'll happily pick you up and drop you back at the end of your stay. On arrival fresh eggs, tea, coffee and farm milk are all available. Guests can also pre-order extra farm milk, free range eggs, locally sourced bread/ rolls and delicious home-made soup for your first evening's stay - please request when booking.
Relax in the pretty secluded garden with a feature pond and waterfall plus a patio area with outdoor furniture. Secure storage space for bikes and motorcycles and off road parking for 2 cars are onsite.
The spectacular Yorkshire Peaks and Pennines surround you. The nearby Trans-Pennine Trail is popular for walking and cycling, and the cottage is ideally placed for exploring Sheffield and the South Yorkshire area.
