Situated in the quaint village of Goathland and ideally placed for exploring the North Yorkshire moorlands, The Beacon Guesthouse is a 3 star bed and breakfast nestled on the edge of the village common. Brimming with heritage and charm, the guest house is a former Victorian country home with landscaped gardens and friendly customer service. We are only a short drive from the popular seaside towns of Whitby and Scarborough and boast a fantastic location for keen walkers and cyclists. Delicious home cooked breakfasts and a range of lighter cooked and cold options are served each morning.
We offer a range of lovingly decorated double, twin and family guest rooms, most of which have fantastic views over the countryside and local village. Our en-suite bedrooms have full central heating, a colour TV and a well stocked hospitality tray. We also offer a family room which comprises a 6ft bed and bunk beds, sleeping two adults and two children, plus a cot if required. The rooms retain their original elegance and are very spacious, making a perfect base for you to come back to after a long day of exploring. All bed linen and towels are provided on your arrival. For those seeking more privacy, we have a further two en-suite double rooms in our converted barn annex. One of the rooms is wheelchair accessible with a walk in shower, shower seat and grab rails in the en-suite.
Our conservatory is the perfect place to start the day overlooking the garden with a home cooked breakfast. We have a number of options available including Full English and lighter cooked options. We are able to cater for special dietary requirements with prior notification. Renovated to include all modern amenities, whilst still retaining Victorian charm and features, the lounge has unique oak panelled walls with comfortable leather sofas and a large TV.
Goathland village is known to many as ‘Aidensfield’ - the setting for the ITV series, Heartbeat – with our guest house regularly featuring in episodes. Our lounge has starred in the series as both a doctors’ surgery and solicitor’s office and some of the rooms have also been filmed as part of the set.

The Beacon is located next to St. Mary's Church adjacent to the common. The village is found by turning off the A169 Pickering-Whitby road following signs for Goathland.
