Polzeath, ideally situated on the headland opposite Padstow, is a village favoured by the late poet laureate John Betjeman, and featured in some of his poems. Also close by are Tintagel, Boscastle and Port Isaac. Polzeath has a nature reserve, a haven for coastal birds, puffins, dolphins and seals, which may also be seen off the bay. Beach 50 yards. Shops 200 yards, pub 700 yards.
