This Victorian end of terrace house has been recently lovingly restored and has six double rooms with en-suite bathrooms. We are classified as 4 stars through the AA. Your hosts Phil and Emma will give you a very warm welcome and will ensure your stay is as enjoyable as possible. They can provide you with maps and brochures of things to do in the area. The beautifully appointed family run house combines original features with a fresh contemporary style. After a home cooked breakfast you could relax in the cosy guest lounge and research places to visit or take a stroll along the river to the city centre. We are prefectly located being only a couple of minutes walk from the city walls and 10 minutes to the heart of the city centre. We are also very close to the York racecourse.
There is a good choice for breakfast ranging from french toast with blueberries to a full traditional breakfast. There's also a specials board where we try something different like waffles and maple syrup! Most of the ingredients are sourced locally and in June 2010 we received the 'delicously Yorkshire breakfast' award. *Our double rooms are not available for single occupancy on weekends, race days and bank holidays.*
All of our bedrooms are beautifully furnished and are uniquely decorated with their own individual charm. All rooms are en-suite except room 4 which has an antique bath in the room and separate private bathroom next door. Each room is fully equipped for your comfort and includes tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, alarm clock/radio, LCD television, complimentary toiletries and lovely fluffy white towels.
Flexible check ins. You can arrive from 10am until 1pm or 5pm until 7pm. However we also offer a self check-in procedure for those guests who would like to arrive outside of these hours. Please mention this at time of booking. There is 24 hour free wi fi available.
A1 '` A64 York. Take the 'York West' exit and follow the A1036 (Tadcaster Road) and signs for the city centre. Once you have passed the Racecourse on your right keep driving straight on and go straight through the first traffic lights but at the second set of lights go right onto Scarcroft Road. Drive straight along until you see lights up ahead. Scott Street is the second last street before the lights. Once on Scott Street go all the way to the top and we are the soft green door on the corner. Scott Street also joins Southlands Road.
