Welcome to the Peacock Bed and Breakfast. It is a beautiful and intimate bed and breakfast situated in the heart of London, just moments away from the historic treasures of Central London. With just five bedrooms, we have a warm and welcoming atmosphere committed to your comfort; you are sure to enjoy your stay with us.Located on the quiet road of Alderney Street SW1, the bed and breakfast is five minutes' walk from Pimlico Tube Station, and eight minutes' walk from Victoria Train, Victoria Tube Station and Victoria Coach stations; making getting around London efficient and economical. Victoria Train Station has fast trains to Gatwick Airport, and Victoria Coach station has coaches to Stanstead, Luton, Gatwick and Heathrow Airports. There are many local restaurants to be enjoyed in Victoria and Pimlico. It is also a short commute to City Airport and Waterloo Eurostar. For business clients the bed and breakfast is very close to the U.K. passport office, Inland Revenue and Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre.The closest tourist attractions are Buckingham Palace, Clarence House, Horse Guards Parade, St. James Palace, St. James Park, Pall Mall, 10 Downing Street, Houses of Parliament, Whitehall, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, The London Eye, the Tower of London, The London Aquarium, Trafalgar Square, Hyde Park, Harrods Department store and the Tate Britain Museum. Having the shopping district of Oxford Circus, Regents Street, Knightsbridge, Sloane Square and Kings Road close by, as well as the West End, Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus with its many restaurants, Theatreland with entertaining musicals and beaming nightlife, makes staying here ideal for both the business and leisure travellers. All rooms are bright, neutrally decorated to a high standard, functional, clean and have firm mattresses ensuring a good night's rest. There is a house safe which can be used upon request. The bedrooms are arranged over five floors. There is no lift in the house. It is best to book a room on a lower floor if your mobility is limited.A continental breakfast is provided and can be enjoyed in the comfort of your room in your own time or in the communal breakfast area. Complementary cereals, bread, butter, jam, milk, fruit juice, yoghurt, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and sugar stocked for your pleasure.If you are lactose intolerant please advise us beforehand. Soya milk can be obtained if you desire. No English breakfast or Meat is served at the peacock.Airport pickup and drop-off can be arranged. Taxis for London can also be arranged. Please let us know if you require a taxi service. We will be happy to arrange this for you. Please note this BandB is in a private family home, so there is no sign for the Peacock on the outside of the house, as we do not accept walk-in enquires for security reasons. The full address with the door number and entry is only granted to those who have placed a booking and had their identity verified through the booking process. You can find the house door number in the Check-in Address or Key Collection section of your booking confirmation email.FROM PIMLICO TUBE STATION5 MINUTES WALK TO PEACOCK HOUSE Take the Bessborough Street SOUTH exit from Pimlico tube station.- When you are outside of Pimlico tube station look for the Indian restaurant, launderette and grocery stores; these are all on Lupus Street. Walk straight down Lupus street past the first traffic lights. Continue to walk down Lupus Street past the old grey church, the Secondary School and the library. Keep straight on Lupus Street until you get to the Tesco Express. At the Tesco Express turn right. This is Alderney Street. Peacock House is 128 Alderney Street, opposite the brown apartment block. It is the house with the red door.FROM VICTORIA STATION10 MINUTES WALK TO PEACOCK HOUSE If you get off at Victoria Bus Station or Victoria Tube Station go to Victoria TRAIN Station. Walk to platform 1 of Victoria Train station. By Platform 1 you will see a WAY OUT exit, take it. When outside, turn right and walk straight towards the traffic lights. You will pass the London Passport Office. Continue walking straight and cross the road at the traffic lights. You are now on Hugh Street. Walk to the VERY END of Hugh Street. You will pass the Blue Cross Animal Hospital. When you have reached the absolute end of Hugh Street, you will see one road on your left. This is Alderney Street. Walk down Alderney Street until you almost reach the end of Alderney Street. Peacock House is 128 Alderney Street, opposite the brown apartment block. It is the house with the red door. WALKING FROM VICTORIA COACH STATION Walk to the main entrance of Victoria Coach station located on Buckingham Palace Road. When in front of the coach station you will see traffic lights directly in front of you. Cross the road at the traffic lights and continue walking straight onto Elizabeth Street. Walk down Elizabeth Street until you reach Hugh Street. Take the first right onto Hugh Street. Walk to the VERY END of Hugh Street. You will pass the Blue Cross Animal Hospital. When you have reached the absolute end of Hugh Street, you will see one road on your left. This is Alderney Street. Walk down Alderney Street until you almost reach the end of Alderney Street. Peacock House is 128 Alderney Street, opposite the brown apartment block.
